Our Story

Our History:

While CDR Naturals was officially established in 1995, Chuck and Donna Ray started their journey towards natural health earlier.

Through the early 90’s the Ray family had health issues with aging parents, in particular a mother who was in a nursing home with dementia. An incident caused Chuck and Donna to bring them to live with them and their four children. Upon her arrival, she was on 13 different medications and could perform no basic living functions by herself (like going to the bathroom or washing).

This spurred the Rays to seek alternative help. It was then that they discovered an alternative medicine doctor by the name of Harvey Walker Jr. With Dr. Walker’s help they were able to get their mother back. She went from 13 medications down to three and could perform all those basic functions again.

This was the proof they needed to believe that there had to be a better way to think about being healthy.

Returning to 1995, they now live in Bourbon, MO, and Chuck and Donna decide to open CDR Naturals by building a small storefront across the driveway from their home. This allowed Donna to homeschool their four children in the morning and open a store in the afternoon. It also allowed her to feed her family the quality foods and supplements she believed would help keep them healthy.

In the year 2000 they had the opportunity to purchase a building on the “Main” street, where the business has continued to operate to this day.

In 2014 their youngest son Jordan moved back to his hometown Bourbon to help Mom and Dad continue the vision. Jordan now runs most of the daily operations alongside his parents and Nonna (Italian for grandma) too.

Our experiences and our faith in God have shaped the how and why in everything we do, and we are grateful we get to help people every day achieve better health for themselves and their families.
